Friday, August 2, 2019
2241 Hours: Officer Palacio located a subject lying in the grass at the 6700 block of Thornton Avenue. Officer Palacio made contacted and arrested the 31-year old male out of Newark for being too inebriated to care for himself or others. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

2314 Hours: Officer Riddles responded to Sycamore Street and Rich Avenue on a report of a collision. Officer Riddles determined one of the drivers, a 48-year old male out of Newark was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him for DUI. He was booked at Fremont Jail.

Saturday, August 3, 2019
0356 Hours: Officer Herrera and Officer Palacio responded to 7000 block of Gateway Boulevard for a report of excess water on the roadway. Officers found a broken fire hydrant and located the involved vehicle. The driver of the solo vehicle was a 38-year old male out of Union City was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for DUI and booked at Fremont Jail.

0405Hours: officers responded to 7000 block of Gateway Boulevard on a report of a subject with a needle in his arm. Officers located a 27-year old male transient sitting in a Pagan symbol made of a large amount of cigarette ash. There were also approximately 50-75 tattoo needles strewn around the area. The subject was arrested for being under the influence of narcotics and being in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

Sunday, August 4, 2019
1439 Hours: During a pedestrian stop near Newark Boulevard and Highway 84, Officer Fredstrom arrested a 46-year old male out of Newark for his misdemeanor violation of a court order. He was issued a new court date. After issuing the new court date, Officer Fredstrom then discovered the subject had in his possession some suspected narcotics. The subject was cited for possession of narcotics then released.

2152 Hours: Officer Fredstrom conducted a car stop at the 3500 block of Newark Boulevard. Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 42-year old male out of Newark for DUI. He was booked at Fremont Jail.

0948 Hours: Officer Jackman made contact with a 28-year old male out of Newark in the 5000 block of Thornton Avenue. The subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

1403 Hours: Officer Torres made contact with a 31-year old male out of Fremont in the 5000 block of Jarvis Avenue. The subject was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant and booked at Santa Rita Jail.

1442 Hours: Officer Horst responded to the 5400 block of Milani for a hit and run collision. Officer Horst located the suspect vehicle and subsequently arrested a 45-year old male out of San Jose for DUI and hit & run. He was booked at Fremont Jail.

1918 Hours: Officer Cervantes investigated an auto burglary at 39000 Balentine Drive that occurred between 1838-1852 hours. Loss was a laptop and miscellaneous clothing.

2354 Hours: Officer Quinones contacted a 27y-year old female out of Fremont and arrested her for DUI. She was booked at Fremont Jail.

Wednesday, August 7, 2019
Officers responded to a commercial burglary at 38000 block of Cedar Boulevard, which occurred overnight, between the hours of 1800-0802. Unknown suspect(s) removed a plastic portion of an exterior wall to make entry into the business and stole miscellaneous tools. No suspects have been identified and this case is actively being investigation by Officer Herbert.

0212 Hours: Officer Slavazza conducted a traffic stop and contacted a 27-year old male out of Monterey Park. The subject was arrested for DUI and booked at Fremont Jail.

1256 Hours: Officers responded to the 6000 block of Mayhews Landing Road for a report that a 27-year old male out of Newark was in violation of a court order. Officers made contact with the subject and arrested him for violating a court order and violating probation. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

0832 Hours: While conducting a follow-up investigation involving a 30-year old female transient, Officer Frentescu made contact and arrested the subject for possession of suspected illegal drugs and booked at Santa Rita Jail.

2249 Hours: Officer Herrera contacted a 33-year old male out of Newark in the upper PD lot. The subject was arrested for his outstanding arrest warrant and booked at Fremont Jail.

2302 Hours: Officer Torres was patrolling in the area of Bridgepoint Dr when he observed a male and female arguing in the open garage. Officer Torres contacted the two subjects and ultimately arrested a 43-year old male out of Newark for domestic violence battery. The subject was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

1614 Hours: At the 7000 block of Birch Street, Officer Damewood arrested a 30-year old male out of Newark for possession of suspected illegal drugs. He was issued a citation.

Tuesday, August 13, 2019
0936 Hours: Officer Torres investigated a theft to a vehicle in the 39000 block of Ebbitts Street. Overnight, between 2200 and 0936 hours, unknown suspect(s) entered two of the victim’s unlocked vehicles and stole golf clubs and documents.

1022 Hours: Officer Wang investigated vandalism to a UPRR electric box near the railroad tracts at Saint Isabel Avenue and Cedar Boulevard.

1532 Hours: During a traffic enforcement stop, Officer Wang contacted and arrested a 21-year old male for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant out of San Mateo County. He was booked at Fremont Jail.

Thursday, August 15, 2019
0330 Hours: Officer Norvell and Officer Warren responded to the 39000 block of Cedar Boulevard to investigate a possible burglary to two vehicles. Overnight, an unknown suspect(s) smashed the windows of two vehicles.

1918 hours: Officer Quinonez conducted a traffic stop for vehicle code violations. The driver, a 30-year old male out of Hayward was on searchable probation. A search was conducted and a glass pipe was located. He was transported and booked at Fremont Jail. After being fingerprinted, Fremont Jail discovered an outstanding warrant held by Sonoma County using an alias.

0122 hours: Officer Torres investigated a hit and run which caused injury on Cherry St and Cotton Av. The suspect vehicle swerved and collided with the victim and his passenger. The suspect initially stopped and got out to argue with the driver and ultimately fled the scene. The suspect was last seen fleeing in his vehicle, eastbound Cotton Av.

Friday, August 16, 2019
0957 Hours: Officers responded to the 35000 block of Cedar Boulevard for a report of an unwanted guest refusing to leave the residence. Once on scene, Officers learned a 60-year old male out of Newark had fled the scene on foot. The subject violated a court order. Officers located and made contact with the subject. He was arrested for violating a court order and for assault. He was booked into Fremont Jail.

2238 Hours: Officer Hernandez contacted a 39-year old female out of San Jose while checking a vehicle at the dead end of Stevenson. Officer Hernandez arrested the subject for her outstanding arrest warrant.

0043 Hours: Officer Torres stopped a 41-year old male out of Corning on Newark Boulevard and Highway 84. During a search of the subject’s vehicle, Officer Torres located ammunition. He was arrested for violating probation by having ammunition and booked at Santa Rita Jail.

0232 Hours: Officer Herrera stopped a 47-year old male out of Newark at Stevenson Boulevard and Balentine Drive. Officer Herrera arrested the subject for his outstanding arrest warrants. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

Saturday, August 17, 2019
2152 Hours: While all officers were tied up on collisions, another collision was reported at the intersection of Cedar Boulevard and Smith Avenue. Lt Kimbrough responded until officers were able to brake from the other two collisions. Upon arrival, Lt Kimbrough located the single vehicle with a highly intoxicated driver. Officer Slavazza arrived on scene and ended up placing a 69-year old male out of Sierra Madre under arrest for DUI. He booked at Fremont Jail.

Monday, August 19, 2019
1024 Hours: A citizen called in to report a shirtless adult male subject was yelling near the railroad tracks at 7000 block of Carter Avenue. Officer Fredstrom arrived and found a 44-year old male transient standing in the middle of the tracks. Officer Fredstrom gave commands to the subject and he was detained. There were trains stopped in the area in the process of switching tracks. Officer Fredstrom arrested the subject for trespassing on the railroad and booked him at Fremont Jail.

1112 Hours: Officer Swadener made contact and arrested a 43-year old male out of Newark for possession of paraphernalia after being dispatched to 35000 block of Newark Boulevard for a report of a suspicious subject. The subject was issued a citation for possession of paraphernalia.

1735 Hours: Officer Jackman made contact and arrested a 49-year old male out of Newark at Filbert Street and the railroad tracks for his reckless driving and possession of illegal drugs warrants. The subject was issued new court dates and released.
2051 Hours: Rear window smash auto at the 34000 block of Newark Boulevard. Occurred between 1900-2045. Loss is a laptop and $1000 in Euros.

2117 Hours: Package theft occurred on Waveside Way. Occurred between 1215-1700. Loss was a gold Apple iPhone XS Max.

Tuesday, August 20, 2019
0832 hours: Officer Wang investigated a theft of vehicle parts 7000 block of Gateway Boulevard. On 08-20-2019, between 0745 hours and 1630 hours, unknown suspect(s) stole the victim vehicle’s catalytic converter.

1120 hours: Officer Wang investigated a theft from a vehicle at 3000 block of Cedar Boulevard. Between 1100 and 1101 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim vehicle, which was unlocked and stole money. The victim had just returned from the back to his restaurant with $21,000.00 that he left in his center console.

1348 hours: Officer Wang responded to 5800 block of Jarvis Avenue to check on an elderly male which a citizen believed needed help. After working through a language barrier, the male was identified and it was discovered he had an outstanding arrest warrant held by El Monte PD in southern California per driving with a suspended license. The 81-year old male out of Hayward was arrested and later released to his granddaughter with a citation.

1611 hours: Officer Allum investigated a theft from a locked vehicle at the 6000 block of Mowry Ave. Between 0745 and 1610 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim vehicle, after bypassing the alarm by disconnecting the battery. Loss was auto parts and currency.

Wednesday, August 21, 2019
1913 hours: Officer Riddles investigated a burglary to a vehicle at 39000 Cedar Boulevard. Between 1600 and 1900 hours, an unknown suspect(s) smashed the windows of the victim vehicles. Loss was three backpacks.

Friday, August 23, 2019
1921 Hours: Officer Smith conducted a warrant service on a subject who has been wanted for 4 years. A 35-year old male out Newark was contacted and arrested on his no-cite warrant and booked at Fremont Jail.

1949 Hours: Officers responded to an auto window smash burglary at the 5000 block of Jarvis occurred between 1800-1945. Loss was Pink Northface backpack with a flower pattern, passport, and a CD with work information. Suspect(s) unknown.


Saturday, August 24, 2019
0724 Hours: Officer Damewood contacted a 26-year old male out Newark in the area of Ash Street and Wells Avenue and arrested the subject for his 4 misdemeanor warrants: 2 incidents of joyriding, possession of illegal drug paraphernalia, and receiving stolen property. He was booked at Fremont Jail.

0614 Hours: Officer Swadener was dispatched to the area of Morning Glory Court and Quince Place for a report of a possible mail theft. A citizen reported seeing a subject going through mailboxes and followed the subject into Fremont along east bound Mowry Avenue. Officer Swadener located the subject and arrested a 25-year old male out Fremont for possession of paraphernalia and methamphetamine. The subject was issued a citation for possession of illegal drug paraphernalia and possession of suspected methamphetamine.

1453 Hours: Officer Damewood arrested a 46-year old male for DUI after a citizen reported the subject driving erratically in the area of Central Avenue and Sycamore Street. He was booked at Fremont Jail for DUI.


0034 Hours: Officer Slavazza conducted a traffic stop. A 34-year old female out of Morgan Hill was contacted and was arrested for warrants and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sunday, August 25, 2019
1016 Hours: Officer Damewood contacted a 22-year old female out of Newark near Sycamore Street and the railroad tracks. During a probation search she was arrested and issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.

1403 Hours: Officer Jackman investigated an auto burglary at 2000 Newpark Mall that occurred in last 15 min. The left rear window was shattered. Loss is a Huawei laptop. Suspect(s) unknown.

1534 Hours: Officer Frentescu investigated an auto burglary at the 8000 block of Mandarin Avenue. Unknown entry, loss is personal items. Occurred over last week.

1609 Hours: Officer Swadener investigated an auto burglary that just occurred in last 2 minutes at the 39000 block of Cedar Boulevard. Loss is laptop, passport, $300 cash and a Bose Wireless Headset.

1640 Hours: Officer Jackman investigated an auto burglary at the 2000 block of Newpark Mall that occurred within 15 minutes of the call. The right rear window was shattered and the loss is a cloth bag with personal items.

Monday, August 26, 2019
0650 Hours: Officers were dispatched to the area of Abington Court for a report of a family disturbance. A 20-year old female out of Newark was contacted and eventually arrested for battery, vandalism, violating a court order and violating probation. She was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
0905 Hours: Officer Jackman contacted a 25-year old male out of Newark near Sycamore Street and the railroad tracks and arrested him for his misdemeanor warrants; joyriding, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed dirk or dagger. He was issued a new court date.

0905 Hours: Officer Damewood arrested a 43-year old male out of Newark for possession of drug paraphernalia after contacting him at Sycamore Street and the railroad tracks. He was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.
0954 Hours: Officer Damewood arrested a 43-year old male out of Newark for possession of paraphernalia after being dispatched to the area of Hyacinth St. and Honeysuckle Dr. for a welfare check. The subject was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
0143 Hours: Officer Warren arrested a 40-year old male transient for possession of suspected methamphetamine. He was booked into Fremont Jail.
0246 Hours: Officer Cervantes investigated two separate window smash auto burglaries, both having occurred at the 39000 block of Cedar Boulevard. There are no investigative leads at this time.

0756 hours: Officer Fredstrom conducted a security check of the area of Cedar Ct. Officer Fredstrom made contact with a 36-year old male transient out of Newark. A computer check revealed the subject had four outstanding arrest warrants held by Newark PD per attempted battery, possession of drug paraphernalia, being too inebriated to care for himself or others, possession of a stun gun, driving with a suspended license, operating a vehicle that is not equipped with functioning ignition interlock device, and failure to stop at an intersection. He was arrested and transported to Fremont Jail.

Wednesday, August 28, 2019
Officer Fredstrom took a stolen vehicle report, which occurred overnight between 0130-0721 hours. The vehicle was last seen parked on Cedar Boulevard near Mowry School road. No suspect information at this time.

2038 hours: Officer Torres investigated a grab and run theft at the 2000 block of Newpark Mall Dr. Loss was legging and sports bras. Security asked the suspects to refrain from stealing. However, they grabbed an armload of merchandise and ran.

2240 hours: Officer Slavazza initiated a traffic stop on Jarvis Ave and Cardiff St for a mechanical violation. A computer check of the driver, identified a 23-year old female out of Newark. The subject had a suspended driver’s license for DUI, was on probation for DUI and did not have an IID. The subject was arrested and transported to Fremont Jail

Thursday, August 30, 2019
1844 Hours: Officers responded to a report of a theft at the 2000 block of Newpark Mall Rd that occurred between 1800-1844 hours. A Bag was taken from the ground while victim was working out. Loss is black Nike backpack with pink wallet and Acura car keys.

2034 Hours: Officer Herrera on-viewed a vehicle driving recklessly near the 5000 block of Jarvis Ave. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver fled on foot. Officer Herrera chased the subject on foot to the 35000 block of Newark Boulevard at which point he was taken into custody without incident. The driver, on probation for reckless driving, with two previous DUIs and a suspended license for DUI was determined to be DUI. The 20-year old male out of Oakland was arrested for driving with blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or higher; resisting, delaying, obstructing a police officer; and violating probation. He was booked at Fremont Jail.

Friday, August 31, 2019
0005 Hours: Officers responded to a report of a large motor home actively hitting vehicles on Sunrose Ave. Officer Hernandez located the RV, and determined the driver was DUI. A 34-year old male out of Newark was arrested for DUI and booked at Fremont Jail.

0722 Hours: Officer Damewood arrested a 60-year old male transient after contacting him in the area of Newark Boulevard and Hwy. 84. The subject was booked at Santa Rita Jail for his 2 counts of assault with a deadly weapon, corporal injury to domestic partner, and possession of drug paraphernalia warrants.

0754 Hours: Officer Johnson stopped a vehicle for vehicle code violations in the area 39000 Cedar Boulevard. He arrested the driver, a 36-year old female out of San Jose for her felony fraud warrant from Santa Clara County. The subject had a methamphetamine smoking pipe and a credit card account number and name not belonging to her. She was booked at Fremont jail for her warrant, possession of drug paraphernalia, and identity theft.

1455 Hours: Officers responded to a report two auto burglaries around the 400 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Each vehcile had a small side window broken, but nothing taken. Occurred between 1400-1455 hours.

1559 Hours: Theft from unlocked vehicle on Santolina Place. Garage door opener taken.

1852 Hours: Officers responded to a disturbance. A 36-year old male out of Newark was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery. He was booked at Fremont Jail.

1823 Hours: Officer Riddles was dispatched to a citizen’s arrest at the 200 block of Newpark Mall Rd. The suspect brought burglary tools in to aid in the theft. A 30-year old female out of Newark was ultimately booked at Santa Rita Jail. The Duty Command Officer was notified.
