GTPD Drug Impact Bulletin: Naloxone Saves Lives

How important is Naloxone? From 2014 to the 2019 GTPD has deployed Naloxone 154 times! Out of those deployments we had to 131 victims who survived their overdoses. That comes out to a 85% Naloxone Saves! It’s hard to imagine how something so small can have such a big impact. We want to stress the importance of properly disposing unused or expired medications. You can do this 24/7 at GTPD Headquarters where there are two boxes: one by the police watch desk and one by the municipal building entrance.

Gloucester Township Police Department knows that addiction effects family and friends that’s why we have the Save Support Group. It’s an opportunity for adults struggling with family members or friends who are addicted to alcohol or other drugs. The purpose of this support group is to give voice to those affected by this problem.

The meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM at GTPD Family Resource Center, 1324 Little Gloucester Rd., Blackwood, NJ. To find out more information on the SAVE Support Group contact 856-852-5553.
