UPDATE 4:15 p.m. The following information was released to local news outlets. 

The Town of Fairview has experienced a major water line break that has affected the Town’s water distribution system. The break is located adjacent to the Town’s major water storage tanks and pump station. These facilities are currently off line and will remain off line until the line is repaired; which is estimated to be completed sometime this evening. While water pressures have been restored at this point, there is a water emergency in effect and the town is still requesting that residents and businesses cease all outside watering until the break has been repaired. The town’s water system is operating only off of a small water storage tank and pump station on the east side of town until the break is repaired and high volumes of water use could seriously affect water pressures and supplies.
