Suspect facing second-degree rape charge 
Detective Jesse Hicks of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged James Ervin Lasher, 27, address listed as Holly Street in Marion, with second-degree forcible rape.
On Thursday, Sept. 5, a female acquaintance of Lasher’s reported that he sexually assaulted her earlier in the day.
The victim then reported the incident to authorities.
