Incident Summary

On September 6, 2019, at approximately 11:35 PM, officers responded to the Hide-Away bar after two subjects previously asked to leave the business had returned.  The subjects were challenging security guards and bar staff to fight and yelling gang related statements at them during the challenges.  Officers arrived on scene and quickly located the two subjects, later identified as Jesus Arango Lopez and Ryan Matelli, who were also associated with another female subject in the area.

Upon contacting the Arango Lopez and Matelli they were uncooperative with officers and as an officer began to detain Arango Lopez in handcuffs Matelli began to flee.  Additional officers initiated a short foot pursuit with the Matelli that ended on American Alley after officers were able to take him to the ground and into custody.

As the first officer was detaining Arango Lopez the associated female subject remained on scene.  The female was argumentative with the officer and on numerous occasions attempted to remove items from the pockets of Arango Lopez.  Upon the arrival of additional officers the female subject was detained and placed into handcuffs.  The female subject was identified as Jacqueline Anguiano Oviedo.  During a weapons search of Anguiano Oviedo she was found to have a concealed knife in her pocket.

During the investigation it was learned that all of the involved suspects had prior contacts for participation or association with criminal street gangs.  A records check of the suspects returned showing that Arango Lopez was on active misdemeanor probation and Matelli was on felony probation.

All of the suspects were ultimately arrested and book into Sonoma County Jail.  Arango Lopez was charged with violations of 415(1) PC, Challenge to fight in a public place, and 186.22(D) PC, participation in criminal street gang.  Matelli was charged with violations of 415(1) PC, Challenge to fight in a public place, 148(a)(1) PC, resisting arrest, and 186.22(D) PC, participation in criminal street gang.  Anguiano Oviedo was charged with 148(a)(1) PC, resisting arrest, and 21310 PC, carrying concealed dirk or dagger.
