Report Number:          19-3707
Occurred Date :           September 4, 2019
Occurred Time:          8:01 PM
Location:                    Pic N Go Market, 905 East Washington Street
Suspect:                      Armando A. Monter, a 26-year-old Petaluma resident

Incident Summary:

On the above date and time, Petaluma PD officers responded to a report of a subject threatening another subject at the Pic N Go Market.  Officers arrived on scene and detained Suspect Monter.  Officers determined that Monter shopped at the market twice that evening.   During the first visit, Monter purchased some items, but then stole some items as he exited the store.  The clerk knew Monter as a frequent customer, and thought he was intoxicated and decided to confront him later.  Monter came back a short time later and attempted to take more items without properly paying for them.  The market clerk asked Monter to pay for the items.  Monter threatened the clerk and then struck him in the face with his hand.  The clerk attempted to retrieve the items again as Monter was exiting the store, but was struck again by Monter.  The incident was captured on video surveillance.  Monter was arrested without incident and transported to Sonoma Count Jail.  Monter was booked for robbery, criminal threats, and for violating his Post Release Community Supervision.  The clerk did not require any further medical attention.
