As of 3:00 p.m today (September 5, 2019), the evacuation order for Beaufort County will no longer be in effect.
South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster’s lifted the evacuation order for Beaufort County effective today (Thursday, September 5, 2019) at 3:00 p.m. It is clear for residents and guests to return to Beaufort County at that time (3:00 p.m.).
Please pass the word along. In addition, the Governor's evacuation order was lifted for Jasper and Colleton counties at 3:00 p.m. today. Residents and guests of Jasper and Colleton counties should follow instructions from those county and municipal governments.
We wish you a safe return home. Some debris remains from Hurricane Dorian in some areas of Beaufort County, please drive with caution.
Information regarding curfew and other issues will be addressed in the next advisory.
