Wilmington Police arrest man for theft from vehicle: 
Wilmington Police have arrested a known individual following a theft from a motor vehicle.
On August 22 at approximately 3:00 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of West 7th Street regarding a suspicious person removing items from a parked vehicle in the block. Upon arrival, police located 63-year old Michael Elam, who was known to police from prior theft investigations. Elam was found to be in possession of items recently removed from the vehicle. He was also found to be in possession of two screwdrivers and a flashlight.
Elam was charged with the following offenses:
- Burglary (3rd degree)
- Possession of Burglary Tools
- Theft Under $1,500
- Criminal Mischief
- Loitering
