On August 27, 2019, at 8:13 AM, officers responded to Bowlero at 1287 S. Park Victoria Drive for a burglary alarm activation. Officers found an open door but did not find anyone inside. Surveillance footage showed a male suspect entering the closed bowling alley through an unlocked door and leaving prior to the officers’ arrival. The suspect took food and alcohol from the business. Officers recognized the suspect as Paez-Alvarez, a local transient.

On August 28, 2019, at 11:36 AM, an officer went to the Milpitas Dental Center at 1101 S. Park Victoria Drive to investigate a prior burglary. Surveillance footage showed the business was burglarized on August 27, 2019 at 11:23 PM. A male suspect forced open a door to get into the closed business and took a laptop computer. Officers were able to identify Paez-Alvarez as the suspect in dental office burglary as well.

Officers immediately began searching for Paez-Alvarez in those areas he was known to frequent. A police Sergeant found him on August 29, 2019, at 2:10 PM, near Seasons Marketplace at 1535 Landess Avenue and arrested him for both burglaries. Paez-Alvarez was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for burglary.

By 4:06 PM on August 30, 2019, Paez-Alvarez was already out of custody and returned to the area. Paez-Alvarez was in possession of the stolen laptop from Milpitas Dental Center.
