On September 1, 2019, at 6:14 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a disturbance in the 5000 block of South Bannerstone Drive near Owensville, Indiana. Officers from the Gibson County Sheriff`s Office, Haubstadt Police Department, and Indiana State Police were dispatched to the residence. Upon arriving Sgt. Bruce Vanoven of the Gibson County Sheriff`s Office began an investigation into the incident. After speaking with all parties involved in this incident Sgt. Vanoven placed 46 year old Christopher Render into custody and transported him to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Render was charged with battery in the presence of a child and strangulation. He remains in custody on a $750 bond.

Assisting Sgt. Vanoven in his investigation was Haubstadt Town Marshal Jeremy Volk.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
