Coastal Flood Watch until 01:00AM Sunday
The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a Coastal Flood Watch, which is in effect from Saturday evening through late Saturday night.
* LOCATIONS...In South Carolina, Coastal Jasper. In Georgia, Coastal Bryan, Coastal Chatham, Coastal Liberty and Coastal McIntosh.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Up to 2 feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways (9.9 to 10.3 feet Mean Lower Low Water at Fort Pulaski). Numerous roads will be flooded, along with some properties. Some flooding of Highway 80 heading to Tybee Island is possible.
* TIMING...High tide will occur around 9:48 PM Saturday at Fort Pulaski. Saltwater inundation will be possible 2 to 3 hours before and after high tide.
* AFFECTED AREAS: COASTAL LIBERTY ... COASTAL BRYAN ... COASTAL MCINTOSH ... COASTAL JASPER ... COASTAL CHATHAM
Instructions:
Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property before flooding develops. If travel will be required, prepare for closed roads.
