INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision

PARTY ONE: Jennifer Lopez, 46-year-old resident of Rancho Cucamonga
PARTY TWO: Desiree Vicario, 27-year-old resident of Rancho Cucamonga
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, August 29, 2019, at approximately 8:30 p.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to a report of a fatal traffic collision located at Arrow Route and Sierra Madre Avenue, in the city of Rancho Cucamonga.
Desiree Vicario drove a Chevrolet Spark east on Arrow Route. Jennifer Lopez, a pedestrian, crossed Arrow Route. Lopez was not in a marked crosswalk. Vicario struck Lopez as she crossed. Lopez suffered major injuries and was declared deceased on-scene by the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department. Vicario remained on-scene and spoke to investigators. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
