Coastal Flood Warning until 12:00AM Saturday

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a Coastal Flood Warning, which is in effect from 7 PM this evening to midnight EDT tonight. The Coastal Flood Watch is no longer in effect.

* LOCATIONS...In South Carolina, Coastal Jasper. In Georgia, Coastal Bryan, Coastal Chatham, Coastal Liberty and Coastal McIntosh.

* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...One to two feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways (10.1 to 10.5 feet Mean Lower Low Water). Numerous roads will be flooded, along with some properties. Some flooding of Highway 80 out to Tybee Island could occur.

* TIMING...High tide will occur around 8:57 PM tonight at Fort Pulaski. Saltwater inundation will be possible 2 to 3 hours before and after high tide.

* AFFECTED AREAS: COASTAL LIBERTY ... COASTAL BRYAN ... COASTAL MCINTOSH ... COASTAL JASPER ... COASTAL CHATHAM

Instructions:

Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
