Advisory

hurricane dorian update

Hurricane Dorian is currently a category 1 storm, with maximum sustained winds of 85 miles per hour. As of now, South Florida is in the forecast track and the hurricane is expected to strengthen. The city has activated our Emergency Operations Center, where our Department of Emergency Management is closely monitoring the storm.

It is essential to not underestimate the possible impacts of this storm and residents should prepare their homes now. The city is planning for the worst and hoping for the best--and we implore our residents do the same. Please review our bilingual Miami Beach Hurricane Guide, which provides detailed information on how to be storm ready by visiting our website at www.miamibeachfl.gov for city-related updates.

The City of Miami Beach is implementing its hurricane plan, preparing for potential damaging winds, heavy rains and flooding. We are actively cleaning storm drains and removing debris from our streets.
