Jasper County Emergency Management stands with our residents and is monitoring the track and potential impact that Hurricane Dorian could have on Jasper County through daily communications with South Carolina Emergency Management. The storm’s current track is still too unpredictable.
This is the time to review your family’s emergency plans and be prepared to enact them. With the unpredictability of the storm’s track, you should always be prepared to safeguard your family.
It is also important for you to stay updated by following trusted sources of information. State and local Emergency Officials, as well as local and national news agencies, are the best sources for trusted and validated information that is key to your safety.
The 2019 South Carolina Hurricane Guide is a wealth of knowledge for you and your family. It provides information on watches and warnings, the potential impact that hurricane conditions can cause, the dangers
associated with flooding, and information regarding the emergency plan for your family.

Portable Radio with extra batteries
Mobile device chargers
NOAA Weather Radio
Non-perishable food for at least three days for each of your family members
Bedding and clothing for each family member
Plastic dishes, eating utensils
Rain Jackets, pants, boots
Sunscreen, sunglasses, and bug repellent
Baby supplies(Food, diapers, medications)
Toothbrush, toothpaste
Soap, shampoo, and other personal hygiene items
Blankets, towels
Important documents such as your driver’s license, social security card, wills, deeds, medical records,
insurance policies, birth and marriage certificates, and family photos.
Cash, enough to fill up your vehicle with gas
Flashlights with extra batteries
First Aid kits and any prescription medications( several days’ worth)
Bottled water(2 gallons per person per day)
Pet supplies (food, leash, carrier, vaccination records)
