The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a Coastal Flood Watch, which is in effect Thursday evening.

* LOCATIONS...In South Carolina, Coastal Jasper. In Georgia, Coastal Bryan, Coastal Chatham, Coastal Liberty and Coastal McIntosh.

* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Up to two feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways (9.8 to 10.2 feet Mean Lower Low Water at Fort Pulaski). Numerous roads will be flooded, along with some properties. Some flooding of Highway 80 to Tybee Island will be possible.

* TIMING...High tide will occur around 805 PM Thursday at Fort Pulaski. Saltwater inundation will be possible 2 to 3 hours before and after high tide.

* AFFECTED AREAS: COASTAL LIBERTY ... COASTAL BRYAN ... COASTAL MCINTOSH ... COASTAL JASPER ... COASTAL CHATHAM

Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property before flooding develops. If travel will be required, prepare for closed roads.
