The long awaited reconstruction of Grand Avenue has finally begun.  As this project will involve a complete reconstruction of the road, curb, and sidewalks, utility repairs, and tree removal/tree planting, residents should expect the road to be closed to all through-traffic most days.  This will include not only north-south travel along Grand Avenue but also east-west travel via West Warren Street, West Johnston Street, West Stewart Street, State Street, and Church Street Alley.  Barriers to inbound traffic will be placed at all intersections, but gaps will be left for outbound traffic so that Grand Avenue residents, local deliveries, etc...will be relatively unimpeded.  On street parking on Grand is not permitted for the duration of the project.  Finally, residents should utilize North Lincoln Avenue and North Prospect Street for north-south travel and Carlton Avenue and Washington Avenue NJ-57 for east-west travel.  We appreciate your patience during this much needed project.
