Press Release
For Immediate Release
On 08/26/2019, the Kingsville Police Department’s Street Level Operations Team, SWAT unit and investigators with the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant in the 1600 block of Lackey Street. The search warrant and arrest warrant were in reference to an Aggravated Robbery of the Lucky Penny Game room located on Hallettsville Highway in Victoria County on 08/04/2019. During the robbery, two black males, one of whom was armed with a handgun, took approximately $30,500.00 in United States currency. The Victoria County Sheriff’s Office had very few leads on the case at the time.

On 08/23/2019, investigators with the Kingsville Police Street Level Operations Team received a tip from an anonymous caller who alleged a male subject named Terence Adair was possibly involved with the robbery in Victoria, Texas. Capt. Mark Frost researched the internet for information on the robbery by Goggling, “Game Room Robbery, Victoria Texas”. Capt. Frost observed a crime stoppers posting by the news outlet, Victoria Advocate. Capt. Frost began reading the story and observed a photograph taken of one of the males suspects which was taken during the robbery. Capt. Frost immediately recognized the male subject as Terence Lamont Adair who is a known resident of Kingsville and commonly in contact with law enforcement. Adair is carrying two large bundles of United States currency in the photograph. As investigators reviewed the photograph of Adair, investigators recognized some of the clothing Adair was wearing during the robbery as clothing seen during a recent search warrant served by the Kingsville Police Street Level Operations team on Adair for the distribution of Crack Cocaine on 08/16/2019. During that search of the location, investigators observed the red in color hat, red in color shoes and black in color shorts with red trim inside the trailer of Adair. Investigators then reviewed body camera video from the search warrant collection phase to confirm the clothing was the same as seen in the photograph and the clothing items were identical. This information was immediately shared with the Victoria County Sherriff’s Office, Sgt. Greg Kouba who is the case agent for the game room robbery.   See photograph below from Victoria Crime stoppers (permission to use photograph received).

The Street Level Operations Team and members of the Victoria County Sherriff’s Office were able to recover the red in color shoes, black in color shorts with red in color trim, black in color V-neck shirt, red in color hat and United States currency from Adair’s residence during the recent search warrant. Adair was placed under arrest for a warrant of Aggravated Robbery, issued by the 377th District Court of Victoria County, Texas. Aggravated Robbery is a first degree felony punishable by incarceration of five to ninety-nine years in state prison. During questioning of Adair by investigators of the Victoria County Sherriff’s Office, Adair was presented with the above photograph and he confirmed that he was the person in the photograph. Adair is currently incarcerated in the Kleberg County jail pending transfer to Victoria County, Texas.
