Fairfield PAL member, Alberto “Berto” Guerrero has been selected as the Solano First Federal Credit Union Student of the Month for July 2019.
“I think of Berto as a role model” says a member of the PAL Student Council. “I see how he does things and I try and do the same” he continues. Staff and PAL volunteers agree. Almost everyone has a story they can share about a time Berto helped them. Berto is a very hard worker and always looking for new challenges. For example, Berto graduated from Rodriquez High School this June—and the following week he started taking a class at Solano College –all the while working almost full time as a welder’s apprentice! At the August PAL Farewell to the Seniors event, several younger PAL members were able to share how much they looked up to Berto!
The Fairfield PAL program offers Fairfield, Suisun, and Travis teens a place to grow, learn, and build the skills they need today and in the future. The PAL Center offers teens a safe environment, supports working families and helps students achieve by giving them opportunities right now.
The Fairfield PAL Program is open to Fairfield, Suisun, and Travis students ages 13-18 who are enrolled in school. Memberships are $10 per year and can be purchased at the Fairfield Community Center (1000 Kentucky Street) Mon-Thursday between 11:30-5:30pm. A current student ID is required to register.
