Flood Advisory until 03:30AM Tuesday

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flood Advisory for... Southeastern Cherokee County in southeastern Kansas... Northwestern Newton County in southwestern Missouri... Southwestern Jasper County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 330 AM CDT.

* At 930 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially susceptible to the dangers of flooding. Locations in the advisory include... Joplin... Webb City... Carl Junction... Baxter Springs... Columbus... Galena... Carterville... Duquesne... Loma Linda... Airport Drive... Leawood... Lowell... Silver Creek... Shoal Creek Drive... Saginaw... Redings Mill... Grand Falls Plaza... Shoal Creek Estates... Dennis Acres... Cliff Village... This advisory includes but is not limited to the following low water crossings... North Main and Murphy Boulevard In Joplin... Route JJ at Center Creek southeast of Carl Junction... and Schifferdecker Road at Turkey Creek in Joplin.

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
