On August 25th, 2017, Pomona Police Department Majors Crimes Task Force (MCTF) officers were conducting high visibility patrol for prostitution along the East Holt Ave. Corridor. Officers observed an underage female walking on the East Holt Ave. Corridor talking to several male motorists, and eventually got into a vehicle occupied by a male. The vehicle traveled eastbound when it was stopped in a local shopping center parking lot.
Officers arrested the male suspect in the vehicle, John Willie Morgan, and transported him to the Pomona City Jail. Morgan admitted to officers he drove the underage female victim to Pomona to earn money through sexual acts. On August 8th 2019, John Willie Morgan was found guilty of the following charges
236.1(c) PC Human Trafficking of a Minor for a Commercial Sex Act.
288(c) (1) PC Lewd Acts Upon a Child.
288A (B) (2) PC Oral Copulation of a Person under 16.
261.5 (D) PC Unlawful Sexual Intercourse. 2 counts.
Morgan will return to court in November 2019 for sentencing.
