| Narrative: |
On 08/23/19, the Sheriff’s K9 Unit, Sheriff’s PROS Unit and Detectives from the Sheriff’s Gang Unit conducted proactive enforcement in the area of West Ventura for several subjects wanted for felony crimes. The wanted subjects were believed to be concealing their whereabouts within the homeless encampments in the area.
While scouring the river bottom, deputies located a campsite belonging to a local gang member Martin Aranda, who is on active probation for narcotic offenses. Aranda was found to be in possession of 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine or the equivalent of 6,140 individual doses of methamphetamine, a large amount of U.S. currency, and narcotic paraphernalia consistent with narcotic sales.
Aranda was arrested and booked at the Ventura County Main Jail for narcotic sales. His bail was set at $75,000, which he posted. Aranda’s next scheduled court appearance is set for September 11th 2019.
