Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a male Hispanic adult. The incident occurred on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at approximately 7:25 A.M., on the 5500 block of Gifford Avenue, Maywood.
 
Detectives have learned that deputies assigned to East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station responded to the location regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call. Upon their arrival, they discovered a 24-year-old, male adult suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic who fled the scene on foot.

At this time, the motive to this shooting seems to be gang-related

Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives are responding to 5500 blk of Gifford Avenue, Maywood, to investigate the shooting death of a man that occurred on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at approximately 7:25 a.m.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
