Fairfield PD and CHP Air Operations division stop illegal sideshow activity.

On Friday night, due to recent street racing and sideshow activities, the California Highway Patrol Air Operations division assisted the Fairfield Police Department.   Several vehicles were observed and video recorded engaging in sideshows in the area of Huntington Drive and Stanford Court.  As a result of the vehicles engaging in these activities, two vehicles were towed, one subject was booked in county jail, two citations were issued, and two DUI investigations were conducted.

This type of reckless, unsafe, and unlawful activity poses an extreme danger to those participating, other motorists, and bystanders. The Fairfield Police Department takes this very serious.  We hope to deter this type of behavior by conducting maximum enforcement related to this illegal and unsafe behavior.

Thanks to the assistance of our partners at the California Highway Patrol Air Operations division, we are able to gain valuable video evidence when these crimes occur.  This assistance allows us to safely monitor these types of events and reduce the risk to the public and those involved when taking enforcement action.

The Fairfield Police Department takes these and all crimes seriously.  We ask if you see these types of illegal activities occurring that you call our dispatch center at (707) 428-7300.
