Frankfort’s Annual Fall Festival is next week, August 28^th through September 2^nd.  We ask our residents to be mindful of increased traffic, no parking signs, and restricted access and road closures in the downtown area.  Saturday through Monday the following Streets will be closed for the festival:

White Street- Kansas to Elwood
Kansas Street- Hickory to White
Oak Street- Kansas to Elwood
Ash, Oak, and Hickory Streets- Nebraska to Kansas

Also, this year we will have a nixle group dedicated to Fall Festival related weather, traffic, and safety information.  If you plan on attending the Frankfort Fall Festival, please sign up by texting “fallfest19” to 888-777 to receive these alerts.  It should be noted that current Nixle members must opt into the fall fest group to receive these notifications. 
 
Vehicle Break-ins and Thefts
Frankfort and surrounding areas continue to experience motor vehicle thefts and vehicle break-ins.  Please be help prevent these from occurring by locking vehicles and NEVER leave keys or key fobs inside of your car.  In almost every theft in the area, the vehicles have been left unlocked with car keys/fob left inside.  Please make it part of your nighttime routine to check your vehicles and make sure they are locked and that overhead garage doors are closed.  As always if you see or hear anything suspicious, contact the Frankfort Police Department immediately.  It takes a partnership of working together to keep our community safe.
