Traffic Update - Vehicle into pole leaves Pacific closed from Otay to Antioch for an additional 8 hours per PG&E.

8/22/2019, 4:00 PM - SMPD just received word from PG&E field supervisors that Pacific Avenue will remain closed for an additional 8 hours to replace the destroyed electric pole. We've notified CalTrain in the event this would effect pedestrian commuters needing to walk southbound after leaving the train station.

Any questions related to power loss or PG&E's work, please call 1-800-PGE-5000.

Police and Fire are collaborating on scene of a solo vehicle accident into a PG&E pole, leaving the Village neighborhood without power. The affected households in immediate danger have been contacted and asked to shelter in place while PG&E works to correct the issue.

Vehicle and pedestrian access have been closed along Pacific Avenue from Otay Avenue to Antioch Drive. Please use an alternate route. Anyone without power is encouraged to contact PG&E for an estimate on how long your power will be out.
