DUI arrest in Corte Madera
A repeat DUI offender was arrested last week after a near-miss collision in the parking lot of Corte Madera’s Town Center.
On Friday, August 16th at about 7:00 pm, a Central Marin Police officer was on patrol in the Town Center parking lot. He saw a silver Range Rover speed through the lot, run the stop sign, and nearly collide with another car. He stopped the Range Rover just across the street and the subsequent DUI investigation determined that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol. John Griffith, 42, of Garberville, CA was taken into custody and transported to Marin County Jail. During his investigation the officer learned that Griffith had previous DUI convictions, so he was booked on charges of misdemeanor DUI and the felony DUI with prior convictions enhancement. Griffith’s bail was set at $75,000.
