Notable Cases

On Monday, 08-12-19 at 12:07 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Winchester Street on a report of a subject who exposed his genitals to the 58-year old reporting party. The reporting party said she was sitting outside her friend’s apartment building and was trying to call her daughter, but her phone died, leaving her stranded. The reporting party said a male subject approached her and asked what she was doing, and he let her into the apartment complex. The reporting party said the male then went to his apartment and she knocked on her friend’s door. The reporting party said her friend wasn’t answering the door, and the male came back down to see what she was doing. The reporting party explained her friend wasn’t answering the door, and her phone was dead. The reporting party said the subject went back to his apartment and retrieved his phone and a pen and paper. The subject asked the reporting party to write down the phone number, and he would call the daughter. The reporting party wrote down the number, handed the items to the subject, and the subject handed them back, telling her to hold the items. The suspect then said, “You can hold this too”, unbuttoned the front of his pajama pants and pulled out his penis through the hole in the pants. The reporting party said she immediately started knocking on her friend’s door again. The reporting party signed a private citizens arrest form, and the 40-year old subject was arrested for indecent exposure transported to the San Mateo County Jail.

Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access to a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
