SUSPECT: Unknown
SUMMARY: On August 21, 2019, at approximately 10:13 pm, Apple Valley Sergeant James Evans attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black motorcycle speeding near Central Avenue and State Highway 18. The rider matched reports from an earlier officer safety bulletin about an armed subject. One responding patrol unit struck loose sand at Highway 18 and Cody Avenue and left the roadway. There were no injuries.

Earlier in the day, Apple Valley Deputies received a call about a subject riding a black motorcycle on Bear Valley Road. The rider was reported to be armed with a handgun and or several ammunition magazines. It is not known if the suspect who fled from Sergeant Evans is the same suspect from the earlier call.
