Most of our schools are starting this week and it's an exciting time to see old friends, make new ones, and learn new things. We are committed to keeping our streets safe for all and offer these reminders for students and drivers:

Walkers
- Always use the sidewalk. If there isn't one, walk on the edge of the street facing traffic.
- Use marked crosswalks to cross the street, and look left-right-left again before you cross, and WALK don't RUN across the street
- Check for cars moving at driveways and intersections
- Obey all traffic signs and the Crossing Guards
- Watch where you're going, not your phone. Put headphones and devices away while you're walking.

Bikers
- ALWAYS wear a helmet!
- Ride in the same direction as traffic and follow traffic signs and signals
- Watch for car doors opening in your path
- Ride in the bike lane whenever possible

Drivers
- Slow down and pay extra attention, especially during early morning and in the afternoon at dismissal time.
- Watch for and expect kids on foot or on bicycles, especially in neighborhoods, school zones, or bus stops.
- When flashers are blinking in a school zone, stop and yield to pedestrians in the cross walk or intersection.
