Phone Scam Alert 
Ocean Township Police Department has been made aware of an ongoing phone scam. This scam involves a caller who claims that they are representing the police department and attempts to solicit money. The caller also states that they are personal friends with the Chief and uses names of department personnel. The Ocean Township Police Department does not solicit money by phone or in person, so please do not fall for this scam. Please alert friends and family members of this ongoing scam as it has already occurred in other towns. Any and all complaints of these phone calls should be reported and documented.
