The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Heat Advisory, which is in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 7 PM EDT this evening.
* HEAT INDEX VALUES...Up between 100 and 105 due to temperatures around 90, and dewpoints in the lower 70s.
* TIMING...This afternoon.
* IMPACTS...The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure.
* AFFECTED AREAS: LANCASTER ... YORK
Instructions:
Limit or reschedule strenuous outdoor activities. Find shade and stay hydrated. Check up on the elderly, sick and those without air conditioning. Never leave kids or pets unattended...look before you lock.
