Narrative:
On August 14, 2019, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office contacted and arrested Jose Cancion Reyes of Littlerock for his involvement in the sales of narcotics to residents of Ventura County.
During the month of July 2019, investigators assigned to the Pre-Trial Detention Facility Classification Unit developed information regarding a sophisticated heroin distribution network responsible for the distribution of heroin to residents of Ventura County. Jail staff worked diligently and obtained all relevant information and provided it to the Narcotics Unit for follow up.
During the investigation, Narcotics Detectives identified Jose Cancion Reyes of Littlerock as the subject responsible for heroin sales. On August 14, 2019, Detectives with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office contacted and arrested Reyes for his involvement in the narcotics sales investigation. Reyes was transported to the East Valley Jail in Thousand Oaks for processing.
Following Reyes’ arrest, detectives executed signed search warrants at two residences in Littlerock associated to Reyes. During the search, detectives seized 1,578 grams of heroin, 17 grams of cocaine and paraphernalia indicative of narcotic sales. Detectives also seized a large sum of money believed to be proceeds from narcotics sales.
Reyes is currently incarcerated at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility where he is awaiting court proceedings and his bail was set at $300,000.00.
Heroin is a contributor to both fatal and non-fatal overdoses taking place in Ventura County. The Narcotics Unit is committed to aggressively target narcotics sales and help combat opiate overdoses in Ventura County through aggressive narcotic enforcement.
