...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING FOR WIND, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 200, 202, 203, 207, 290, 292, 486, 487 AND 490 IN NORTHWEST AND WEST-CENTRAL COLORADO AND PORTIONS OF EASTERN UTAH... .Gusty afternoon winds along with a dry air mass over the region will contribute to elevated fire weather conditions in critical fuels on Friday and likely Saturday as well across lower elevations of the central and western forecast area. The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red Flag Warning below 7000 feet for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Friday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 207 Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area below 7000 feet.
* WINDS...West 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...9 to 14 percent.
* IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for the rapid ignition and spread of fires. Agricultural burning is strongly discouraged.
* AFFECTED AREAS: SOUTHWEST COLORADO LOWER FORECAST AREA
