Labor Day, September 2, 2019, will be the date for the 10th Annual Red, White and Bang Kids Triathlon. This is a great way to spend the last summer weekend with your family. Tax Bills: Taxes are due by September 3rd with no further grace period. Late payments will be charged interest from August 1, 2019. You can determine your taxes due by using this link.
Lawrence Senior Art Show: A special Art Exhibit showcasing art created by our seniors is currently being displayed by the Lawrence Senior Sculpture and Painting classes of the Lawrence Township Senior Center. You can view the exhibit at the Mercer County Library Lawrence Branch during library hours until Thursday, August 29, 2019. The event is dedicated to the memory of Teresa Prashad - artist, teacher and highly respected member of the local arts community. The event is free to the public.
Greg Whitehead, Director of Public Works will be presenting a report to Council regarding the brush program.
Message from the Department of Public Works:
The Township recently revised the brush collection regulations effective January 1, 2019. (Ordinance No. 2307-18)
NEW YARD WASTE COLLECTION RULES
Brush will continue to be picked up according to the zone schedule. Please refer to the Zone Map below.
- Brush should be placed at curbside no earlier than the weekend prior to the scheduled pickup week
- Yard waste shall be placed along the front yard curb of the property which it has originated for collection.
- Collection will be limited to brush and tree prunings.
- Tree trunks and limbs in excess of 6 inch diameter will not be collected.
- Limbs should be cut in lengths of 3 feet or less.
- All limbs and brush should be placed at the curb in an orderly manner.
- The size of the pile may not be larger than 3 feet high and must be placed not greater than 4 feet from the edge of the pavement. The pile shall not exceed 12 feet in length.
- No wire, nails or metal should be left in the materials.
- Diseased material and firewood will not be collected and disposed of by the Township. This material must be disposed of privately.
- All tree stumps are the homeowner’s responsibility. The Township will not collect tree stumps.
BRUSH WILL NOT BE PICKED UP IF THE ABOVE RULES ARE NOT FOLLOWED.
All commercial landscapers shall be registered annually with the
Township of Lawrence by March 31st.
There is no brush collection during November and December, leaf collection only.

The week of August 19 is Zone 3.
If you have any yard waste, you may take it to the Ecological Facility on Princeton Pike between the hours of 7:30 am and 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The Ecological Facility is now open on Saturdays.
