August 5th

Auto Burglary – 9895 San Pablo Ave. (Peets Coffee):
An unknown suspect shattered the rear driver side window of the victim vehicle and removed a HP laptop, jewelry and other miscellaneous property. The theft occurred in between 7:10 AM – 7:20 PM

Vehicle Theft – 8600 Block Don Carol Dr.:
Theft of a vehicle occurred between August 3rd 5:00 PM and August 5th 7:30 AM.

Residential Burglary – 7300 Block Pebble Beach Dr.:
An unknown suspect entered an open garage and stole a bicycle and other items from an unlocked vehicle that was inside of the garage. The theft occurred in between August 4th 7:00 PM and August 5th 8:30 AM.

Auto Burglary – 225 El Cerrito Plaza (Trader Joes):
An unknown suspect shattered the rear driver side window and removed a bag from inside of the vehicle. The theft occurred in between 12:45 PM and 1:00 PM.

Auto Burglary – 11511 San Pablo Ave. (Ihop):
An unknown suspect shattered the rear driver side window and stole a backpack. The theft occurred in between 11:30 AM and 12:45 PM.

Auto Burglary – 7901 Cutting Blvd.:
An unknown suspect shattered the rear driver side window of the victim vehicle and removed two suitcases. The theft occurred at approximately 3:00 PM.

Residential Burglary – 7300 block of Terrace Dr:
At 5:26 pm, a home owner received a phone notification and saw several subjects approach their home. Officers arrived on scene and discovered the suspects entered through a downstairs window and removed property from the victim’s home.

Residential Burglary – 1700 Wesley Dr:
At 5:46 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence by forcing open a side door. The suspects ransacked the interior and left with property. The crime occurred between 7:00 am to 5:30 pm on 8/5/19.

Theft from Auto – 5300 block of Potrero Ave:
At 8:56 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle through an unlocked door and removed property. The crime occurred between 6:30 am to 7:30 pm on 8/5/19.

Residential Burglary – 500 block of Ashbury Ave:
At 8:59 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect forced open a bedroom window and removed property. The crime occurred between 11 am to 8:59 pm on 8/5/19.

Possession of a Controlled Substance – 10600 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 2:37 am, an officer conducted a suspicious vehicle investigation and subsequently arrested a 22 year old male from Berkeley for being possession of a controlled substance. The male was identified and released on a citation.

August 6th

August 7th

Residential Burglary – 8700 block of Terrace Dr:
At 10:47 pm, the home owner received a phone notification from his security company. Upon watching the video it showed four suspects attempting to enter the residence but was frightened. The suspects fled the area in an unknown vehicle prior to police arrival. The suspects were not able to enter the residence.

Robbery, probation violation – 11400 block of San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 10:52 pm, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 58 year old male. The male attempted to leave with unpaid merchandise and was confronted by store security. When confronted the male attempted to hit the security guard with a glass bottle. The male missed and fell to the ground and was subdued by security until police arrived. The male was on probation and was ordered not to be at the business. The male was booked and then taken to county jail.

August 8th

Warrant Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance – San Pablo Ave/Schmidt Ln:
At 3:23 am, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and subsequently arrested a 28 year old male for an outstanding warrant and for being possession of a controlled substance. The male was booked and then taken to county jail.

Arson – 7200 block of Fairmount Ave:
At 8:19 pm, officers were dispatched to a report of teenagers lighting items on fire on a school basketball court. Upon arriving the teens were gone and the item was no longer on fire. Later in the shift officers located the teenagers who admitted to burning a camping chair. The teenagers were identified and then released to their parents.

Vehicle Tampering – 2300 block of Cedar St:
At 9:28 pm, an unknown suspect appeared to be trying to be breaking into a vehicle but was scared off before doing so. The suspect was last seen walking up the hill from the location.

DUI – Richmond St and Fairmount Ave:
At 0001 am, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 65 year old male from El Cerrito, for being under the influence. The male was booked and then released to his sober wife.

Possession of a Controlled Substance – BART Path and Blake St:
At 3:06 am, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and subsequently arrested a 32 year old male from Richmond for being in possession of a controlled substance. The male was identified and then released on a citation.
