SUSPECT(S): LaQuinton Bowers, 32-year old Victorville resident
Darren Jerome Jones, 29-year old Los Angeles resident
VICTIM(S): T-Mobile
SUMMARY: On August 10, 2019, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a robbery that had just occurred at the T-Mobile store on 7th Street. The caller reported two black male suspects entered the store and after asking some questions, grabbed several cell phones and smart watches, cut the security devices and fled the store in a black Acura.
A description of the vehicle was relayed to other local law enforcement agencies. Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) spotted the vehicle northbound on the 15 Freeway, near Hodge Road. With assistance from deputies at the Barstow Sheriff’s Station, CHP conducted a traffic stop near L Street and the suspects were detained.
The stolen phones and smart watches were recovered and returned to the store. A follow-up investigation indicated the Acura was stolen from Huntington Beach. The suspects, identified as LaQuinton Bowers and Darren Jerome Jones, were arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for robbery and vandalism.
