Advisory

Severe Weather Expected for Vermilion Co tonight between 8pm-10pm.

The timing for a severe line of storms to hit the Vermilion County area is between 8pm-10pm this evening.

The Storm Prediction Center continues to highlight an Enhanced Risk of severe weather over much of central Illinois, and is honing in on areas from about Jacksonville to Champaign and into Vermilion County as being particularly at risk. The chance of strong (F2-F5) tornadoes for the area has increased as well. Good probability for damaging winds in excess of 75mph and strong tornadoes. Flash Flooding is also possible with 1-3 inches of rain falling in a short period of time with these storms.

Given this will arrive after some people have gone to bed, make sure you have a way to get warnings while you are asleep, either a NOAA Weather Radio or a cell phone with a weather warning app near your bed.
