Traffic stop leads to arrest of Georgia woman on multiple charges.

On August 8, 2019, at 2:29 p.m. Deputy U.B. Smith observed a Blue 2000 Toyota Rav 4 fail to properly signal a turn onto Water Street from Race Street in Princeton. Upon stopping the vehicle near the intersection of Broadway Ave and Washington Street Deputy Smith and began a roadside investigation. While speaking with the driver 19 year old Mezmariah Logan of Dalton Georgia she attempted to give Deputy Smith a false name in an attempt to hinder his investigation. However after a brief investigation Deputy Smith was able to properly identify Ms. Logan and discovered that she was operating a vehicle without ever having received a valid operators license. At that point Ms. Logan was placed into custody. At the conclusion of his investigation Deputy Smith transported Ms. Logan to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with False Informing, Possession of Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, and Possession of Methamphetamines. She remains in custody on a $750 bond.

Assisting Deputy Smith in his investigation was Deputy Michael Rose as well as Officer Matt Clark with the Indiana DNR and Officers Lincoln Edwards and Jeremy Robb of the Princeton Police Department.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
