Tonight, Police Chief Mike Sellers and Assistant Police Chief Winter attended the Sean M. Walsh Foundation Luau. Chief Sellers presented Cheryl Walsh with a plaque thanking her for the on-going support.
Specialist Walsh was a Military Police Soldier in the California National Guard, serving in Operation Enduring Freedom, when he was killed in action in the Khost Province of Afghanistan on November 16, 2011. Prior to his service, Sean was a Santa Clara Police Explorer. His ultimate goal was to become a police officer, and canine handler, with our agency.
Since Sean’s passing, the Sean M. Walsh Foundation has purchased 26 dogs and assisted 7 Departments with equipment purchases. The Santa Clara Police Department has been the recipient of 5 dogs from the Foundation. For more information, log into https://www.seansk9s.org/
