Robert Clarkson was arrested for Attempt Murder after trying to run over 3 people w/his vehicle; one person injured

SUSPECT: Robert Peter Clarkson, 31 years old, resident of Needles, Ca
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, August 8, 2019, deputies from the Colorado River Station responded to an assault with deadly weapon call near H Street and 3rd Street in the City of Needles. During the investigation deputies determined Robert Clarkson used his vehicle as a weapon, accelerating toward three victims walking through an alley way. One of the victims was struck by the vehicle driven by Clarkson. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result and received medical treatment at the Colorado River Medical Center in Needles.
Clarkson fled the scene in his vehicle and was located shortly after the incident and taken into custody. He was booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto with bail set at $1,000,000.
