A Twenty-Nine Palms woman is arrested for causing an injury to her 8-month-old granddaughter

SUSPECT: Felicia Howard, 49 years old, resident of Twenty-Nine Palms
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, July 24, 2019, the victim was taken by family members to Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) for an X-ray exam. During the medical examination at LLUMC, forensic pediatricians found a fracture to the victim’s right arm. The victim’s injury was consistent with suspected child abuse.
Investigators determined the injury to the 8-month-old occurred in the city of Twentynine Palms, while in the care of Felicia Howard, the paternal grandmother to the victim.
Following an extensive investigation, which included Detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Crimes Against Children Division, the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station and Forensic Pediatricians from LLUMC, Howard was arrested on Thursday, July 25, 2019. She was booked at Central Detention Center for Willful Cruelty to a Child.
