INCIDENT: Felony Evading, Grand Theft Auto, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

LOCATION: Southbound State Route 71 between Grand Avenue and Butterfield Ranch Road, Chino Hills

SUSPECT(S): 26-year-old David Galloway of Santa Monica

SUMMARY: On Monday, August 5, 2019, at 11:04am, deputies with the Chino Hills Station attempted a traffic stop on a reported stolen vehicle. The vehicle was reported stolen to the Azusa Police Department on Saturday, August 3, 2019. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, 26-year-old David Galloway of Santa Monica, failed to yield.

Galloway led deputies on a pursuit southbound on State Route 71 between Grand Avenue and Butterfield Ranch Road in Chino Hills. Galloway exited the freeway and continued onto Shady View Drive which was a dead-end street. Galloway stopped the vehicle and complied with deputies’ instructions. Galloway was taken into custody and booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga for felony evading, grand theft auto, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies were able to return the vehicle to the registered owner.
