Police from across the High Desert conduct traffic enforcement operation.

INCIDENT: Traffic Enforcement Operation
LOCATION: Cities of Adelanto and Victorville
SUMMARY: On July 24, 2019, deputies from multiple stations in the High Desert, including Victorville Police Department, Apple Valley Police Department, Hesperia Police Department, and Adelanto Police Department, conducted a Traffic Enforcement Operation focused on reducing traffic collisions.
Deputies concentrated on several roadways in Adelanto and Victorville, identified as problem areas. As a result, a total of 121 vehicle stops were conducted. Of the 121 stops, 116 citations were issued for vehicle code violations which included exceeding the speed limit, failing to stop at stop signs, distracted driving, and other unsafe driving practices. Seven vehicles were towed for expired registration or for being operated by a driver who was unlicensed or whose driving privilege was suspended.
Similar operations will be conducted throughout the High Desert in August and September. Our local law enforcement and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as a whole, urges drivers to follow the vehicle code to keep themselves and others safe.
