On 08/02/2019, at around 8:00am, Rohnert Park Public Safety received a report that a 16 year old girl was sexually assaulted along the Copeland Creek path in Rohnert Park on Tuesday, 07/30/2019.  The report came from the girl’s school after she told another student about the assault.  The victim said she was walking along the creek path between Snyder Lane and Country Club Drive at around 10:00pm on Tuesday night, when she saw a male on the creek path who started following her.  The victim said the man grabbed her and sexually assaulted her along the path, then he ran towards Snyder Lane after the assault. 
 
The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his 20’s, who was wearing dark clothing with a silver chain hanging from his pants pocket, and he had a heavy accent when he spoke.  The victim also said the suspect had a tattoo on his left hand.  This assault is currently being investigated by Rohnert Park Detectives, and anyone with information or potential surveillance video of the area is asked to contact Detective Jon Kempf at (707)588-3533.  You can also send an email to [email protected] with any information that could assist our Detectives.
