INCIDENT: 2019-19820 Possession of Methamphetamine and Outstanding Warrant
DATE & TIME OCCURRED: 8/1/2019 at 0109 Hours
LOCATION OCCURRED: US Route 1 South at Farber Road
ACCUSED: Jerson A. Sarriaecheverry H/M 39 years old
Resident of Rahway, NJ 07065
OFFICERS: 1) Ptl. M. Erkoboni #5102
2) K9 Officer Zicha #596 & K9 Hodge
3) Ptl. K. LaForge #5104
DETAILS: Ptl. Erkoboni was traveling southbound on US Route 1 near Farber Road and enroute to backing up K9 Officer Zicha & K9 Hodge who were on a traffic stop. Before reaching K9 Officer Zicha & K9 Hodge’s location, Ptl. Erkoboni’s attention was drawn to a Gray Toyota that was slowed to a stop in the right lane. A female exited the Toyota and began walking down the highway as the vehicle drove slowly next to her. The car stopped after Ptl. Erkoboni used her emergency lights. The driver, identified as Jerson A. Sarriaecheverry, was determined to have an Outstanding Warrant from Elizabeth, New Jersey.
During the investigation into this incident, K9 Officer Zicha & K9 Hodge (who cleared from their car stop), and Ptl. LaForge acted as backup Officers. Sarriaecheverry was found to be in Possession of Methamphetamine. Sarriaecheverry was processed at WWPD Headquarters. Elizabeth PD released Sarriaecheverry pending a future court appearance. In addition, Sarriaecheverry was released for the Possession of Methamphetamine pending a future court appearance at the Mercer County Superior Court.
The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, West Windsor Township PD, City of Angels, and Recovery Advocates of America stand together in the ongoing battle against Substance Abuse. We firmly believe in education, training, providing aid, and lastly enforcing laws. Chief Garofalo and WWPD’s hope is Officers like Ptl. Erkoboni, K9 Officer Zicha, K9 Hodge, and Ptl. LaForge continue their excellent work in removing highly addictive & fatal drugs off of the streets. We are all in this fight together.
