The funds raised at the Luau benefit the Sean M. Walsh Foundation. This Foundation is very meaningful to the Santa Clara Police Department.
Specialist Sean M. Walsh was a Military Police Soldier in the California National Guard, serving in Operation Enduring Freedom, when he was killed in action in the Khost Province of Afghanistan on November 16, 2011. Prior to his service, Sean was a Santa Clara Police Explorer. His ultimate goal was to become a police officer, and canine handler, with our agency.
Since Sean’s passing, the Sean M. Walsh Foundation has purchased 26 dogs and assisted 7 Departments with equipment purchases. The Santa Clara Police Department has been the recipient of 5 dogs from the Sean M. Walsh Foundation.
