Help Prevent Vehicle Crime on Balboa Peninsula

We are noticing an uptick in burglaries & thefts from vehicles on Balboa Peninsula compared to last year. In many of these crimes, cars are simply left unlocked, making them easy targets. We also see forced entries when valuables are left out in plain sight. It just takes a matter of seconds for a thief to shatter a window, grab your property and disappear.

Don't let this happen to you. You can help prevent vehicle crime with a little T.L.C.:

Take valuables out: Remove all valuables from plain sight or hide them prior to arriving at your destination.

Lock your vehicle: Verify your vehicle is securely locked before leaving the area.

Close your windows: An open window or sunroof allows for quick entry into your vehicle by a thief – Always check that they are completely shut before leaving your vehicle.

If you see suspicious activity, vehicles, or people call the Newport Beach Police Department immediately at 949-644-3717.

Thank you for partnering with the police department to help keep your community safe!
