Two suspects traveling together were arrested for possession of 2 separate stolen Jeeps
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at approximately 1:12 pm
INCIDENT: PC 496D(a) Possession of Stolen Vehicle
LOCATION: N. K St at Smokestack, Needles
SUSPECTS: Rene Martinez Rosales, 31 years old, resident of Mexicali, Mexico
Ana Grecia Alvarez, 31 years old, resident of Brawley, Ca
VICTIM: Confidential Boise, Id
AVIS Rental Company Ontario, CA
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, July 30, 2019, deputies from the Colorado River Station in the City of Needles received information regarding a stolen white 2019 Jeep Wrangler vehicle. Deputies were able to locate the reported stolen vehicle, unoccupied, parked in the Jack in the Box restaurant parking lot. Suspects Rosales and Alvarez exited the Jack in the Box and made their way to the stolen vehicle. Alvarez got in the stolen vehicle and Rosales got into a black Jeep (bearing Baja, CA plate) parked next to the stolen white Jeep. Traffic enforcement stops were conducted on both Jeeps for further investigation. A records check confirmed the white Jeep was listed as stolen/embezzled from Avis Rental Car in Ontario as of July 15, 2019. The black jeep wrangler was cold plated with a license plate from Baja, CA. A records check on the VIN of the second jeep returned as stolen out of Las Vegas, NV on July 28, 2019. Rosales and Alvarez were arrested for PC 496D(a) Possession of Stolen Vehicle. They were booked into the Needles jail without incident.
San Bernardino County Department of Child and Family Services was contacted for three children in the vehicle at the time of the arrest. The children were released to Child and Family Services without incident.
