SUMMARY:

On Sunday, July 28, 2019, at 1:57 am, deputies from the Victor Valley Station received a 911 call regarding a shooting near State Hwy 18 and Midway in Lucerne Valley.

According to the victims, they were at gas at a station at Navajo Road and Bear Valley Road in Apple Valley when they saw a male with no shirt and a bloody nose running from the location with multiple other subjects. They believed the individuals had been in a physical altercation and left the gas station without making any contact with the subjects.

When the victims drove away they noticed a newer model white Dodge Charger following them out of the parking lot. The victims said they then stopped at the post office and saw the same vehicle sitting out on the curb. The victims left the post office and headed east on State Hwy 18 towards Midway. The Dodge Charger sped up and drove up next to the victims. The passenger rolled down the window and pointed a gun at the victims, firing three rounds. The rounds struck the driver’s side door. The suspects then fled the scene. The victims were not injured.

The victims were able to give a good description of the vehicle to Sheriff’s Dispatch as deputies were responding to the scene. Deputy C. Porter located the vehicle while responding to the location of the shooting. A felony traffic stop was conducted, and David Campos and Sergio Rodriguez were arrested. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a handgun and ammunition.

David Campos and Sergio Rodriguez are currently being held at High Desert Detention Center in Lieu of $250,000.00 bail each.
